Challenge
The owners of this charming residence wanted to upgrade their home technology without disrupting their unique lodge-style aesthetic and, in particular, they wished to improve their shading for their home’s signature windows.
Solution
Using VR walkthrough technology, the clients visualized details ordinarily unavailable until months into construction. Our design and engineering team worked in lockstep with TONO Architects and PROTO Construction to design a window-shading solution that would not only help control heating and cooling costs, but seamlessly integrate with the large windows that are this home’s defining characteristic. Our team integrated technology expertly within the aesthetic of the home, and in some cases, designed and built solutions for a bespoke, personalized home upgrade.
System Highlights
- Installed window shades in custom-finished and fabricated pockets to seamlessly blend with window casing since modern architecture left no places to “hide” the shades
- Integrated silent motorized Lutron roller shades on largest south-facing windows for complete control over privacy and lighting levels
- Installed Samsung Frame TV with Sonance invisible in-wall speakers in the family room; when the television is not in use, artwork emerges in its place to retain an elegant aesthetic
- Team designed and crafted innovative subwoofer system that integrates the RBH 2-10” subwoofer into a floating hearth; by use of a suspension system, the subwoofer provides high-quality sound without vibration
- Installed a robust wired and wireless network for connectivity
